Coming from a so-called "dysfunctional family" - I, Erich, alone can discuss the Nicholas Ray portrait of an abusive pill-poppin' poppa with grandiose intellectual ideas and no tolerance for lesser mortals, BIGGER THAN LIFE (1956), with the full jaw-dropping hyperbole it deserves. Do you doubt me? What, did you come from a dysfunctional family, too? Did you wash your hands for dinner? Shall we duel it out in words or fisticuffs?
