Cut to this evening and clearing out my worldly goods I find the programme for the now defunct Cinematheque in Brighton, UK. Can't send a pic so I'll just type in what's here and maybe one day one of us can finally see it!
Carrie (Imuru Shamuto 2003) Shamuto changes the ends of films to the way he wants them. Here Carrie becomes Queen of the prom and is happy.
Hope you are well and enjoying the Blade Runner year so far. That's also why I love the cathartic end of DJANGO UNCHAINED - it felt like I was getting the re-edit of MANDINGO - a similarly traumatic downbeat end that left me morose and shaken for days - wherein all the white people are deservedly
blown to bits Erich Kuerstenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02850572368098319317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30487573.post-85932000840267866272018-04-13T08:10:21.302-05:002018-04-13T08:10:21.302-05:00Always a pleasure to read and re-read. The reels had been threaded in the wrong order so Roger was in turn alive, dead, zombie, alive. I was already pretty snoozy so wasn't sure what was going on.

Also can totally relate to your Goodbar trauma. I saw it on late night tv mid-90s and felt lousy after watching it. Interesting that you highlight the non-horror rep of the film, I think Stephen King mentions it several times in his book on horror, Dance Macabre. It would be nice to re-edit the film where she just has a drink and doesn't die like that guy who cut Carrie so the bucket never falls...Haydn Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18251769691309170787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30487573.post-5648128424772075762016-07-19T07:25:23.348-05:002016-07-19T07:25:23.348-05:00Wonderful examination of the culture surrounding t...Wonderful examination of the culture surrounding this seminal work :)Traveller28https://www.blogger.com/profile/14986863969022733361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30487573.post-87458457576164168492013-05-18T19:55:47.851-05:002013-05-18T19:55:47.851-05:00"Dawn of the Dead" (1978) is a good film..."Dawn of the Dead" (1978) is a good film but "Day of the Dead" (1985) is Romero's supreme masterwork, of that there can be no question.steve prefontainenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30487573.post-28404094677730495362010-10-22T05:05:10.300-05:002010-10-22T05:05:10.300-05:00great review !!!!great review !!!!tentashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06187768997480481000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30487573.post-75866482333911769542010-10-21T11:19:57.854-05:002010-10-21T11:19:57.854-05:00Words fail... this is the single best piece I'...Words fail... this is the single best piece I've ever read on DAWN OF THE DEAD, one of my all-time favorites!
