Death, espec. as presented in the FInal Destination films is way less personal than that, which is why I've belatedly begun to find those films refreshing. It's rare to find a teen horror franchise in which "punishment' for sexual maturity is nonexistent, replaced by a kind of cat vs. mouse toying. Representations of death work differently, though. Usually not one specific "death" figure.<br /><br />Also, I always saw Michael Myers in "Halloween" as an avatar of Death. Faceless, random, unfeeling, unstoppable. At least in the isolated world of the original Carpenter film.
